What’s the difference between a dog COT and dog BED?

It can be a little confusing knowing the difference…and which should you get for your dog…a dog COT or dog BED? Google search ‘dog cot’: ‘A dog cot, or elevated bed, is a raised sleeping platform consisting of a sturdy metal or plastic frame with a taut, durable fabric or mesh surface.’ While Googling the word ‘cot’ may reveal a narrow, portable, often foldable bed for camping, emergencies, or as a spare bed for adults or young children, some also refer to it as a baby’s crib. I slept on a portable fold-up cot on my Girl Scouts camping trip. Not the most comfortable thing to sleep on! Generally, a ‘dog bed’ is cushioned, from simple pillows to a foam mattresses. We refer to our 4Legs4Pets as a PET COT BED. Because it’s used by different kinds of pets, not just for dogs. And although it doesn’t consist of pillows or a mattress, it’s a cot, but it’s so comfortable that pets sleep on it day and night. There you go! Our PET COT BED can be hosed off – no need to remove the cover. Some customers put a pillow or blanket on top of it. That should be the only question – should I put a pillow or blanket on my pet’s cot bed? No, wait, the real question is – what COLOR should I get? With our ‘Build a Cot’ there’s nearly 20,000 color combos available – you could swap out parts as often as you’d like to make your different color cot beds. Check out our SHOP. And check out the photos of Jasmine, my English Bulldog (GRHS), on each size cot bed, which may be helpful, as well as the sizing FAQ in our What’s the Right Size?
